2014-15 PTO Open Meeting Scheduled
Dear Community, I Would like to invite you to attend the Open PTO Meeting on Wednesday September 17th at 6.30pm in the ISR Performing Arts room. I would also like to share some news with you - Alisen Zyweck has agreed to takeover the PTO President position with effect from until the end of the school year. Alisen will be a perfect match as she has been involved in most of the PTO events this last school year, therefore has a good understanding of how the Rumbai PTO runs. At the last PTO Meeting there was no interest from the Community in taking over this position. At the moment, Alisen will be working with me to enable a full handover. Elections will then take place as normal in May. Should you have questions, regarding the PTO, please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks Sandy Hunt |
Open Board & PTO Meeting
On Wednesday April 16th at 6:30 in the Performing Arts room we will host a joint School Board / PTO meeting to close out the school year. We hope to have representation from every family. |
Commuity Meeting ~ January 16th
We would like to invite you to a Community Meeting on January 16th at 6:30 in the ISR Performing Arts
Room. The goal of this meeting is to discuss and approve the management and distribution of monies
raised for the Community Service Fund.
Previously fundraising has been facilitated by the teachers and students in order to support local charities and help those in need. This was then incorporated into the Community Thanksgiving Dinner to reduce the number events on the calendar at that time of year. At present Mrs. Thiessen approves all requests. In order to formalize a process we would like a committee to be set up to approve and manage the fund. A large portion of this money has in the past gone to help the Insan Permata Orphanage and the Green Dignity Program. Other money have been used to help local staff on camp with any issues they may have. These requests are not always approved and when approved the money is often given as a loan, depending on the circumstances. Below we have listed proposed committee members and regulations. During our community meeting we will discuss all three areas listed below, take suggestions and vote on a final decision. Committee Members: ISR School Director Regulations: The approval can be given by email, telephone or in person. All requests will be responded to within three days. Guidelines for Approval of Funding: If you would like to be involved on this Committee, please let me know. If there are a number of people interested in taking part, we will do a ballot vote camp wide. This community member on the committee does not have to have a child attending the ISR school. We would like to encourage all of the community to attend this meeting.

On behalf of the PTO I would like to thank Sam Lavery for all her hard work and dedication as PTO President Sam has been there with every PTO project to support the committees in charge of every event. We will all miss Sam very much. We wish the Laverys all the very best in the future.

Annual Fall PTO Open Meeting
Dear Parents and Teachers,
The Annual Fall PTO Open Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, at 6:30 p.m. in the ISR Performing Arts room. The agenda items are as follows:

PTO Events Committee Meets
The PTO events committee held their first meeting of the school year on Tuesday,
August 20th, to discuss the overall plan for this year and the up coming events. We
had a good turn out with most people being able to attend and we look forward to
welcoming some of our newest members of the community at our next meeting. All
events are scheduled in the calendar for the year with event co-ordinators already
assigned. It's only our second week back at school and planning is already well
underway for our first two events, Jungle Jeeping and Halloween, thanks to Jo Chan,
Laura Neal and Joanie Sullivan. They are super organised and gave us an insight into
what we can expect for both events, we will have more details to follow in the coming
weeks.
These events are an important part of our community and its good to know that we have such an enthusiastic team of people who are willing to make sure our kids have a fun and exciting time. Closed PTO Meeting
The closed PTO meeting is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday 3rd September at 4.30pm. Firstly, I will take this opportunity to give a warm welcome to Sandy Hunt who has volunteered her services as PTO Secretary for 2013-2014.
