Welcome Back Let me wish you all the best in 2014! It was great to see all the smiling faces return to school after a well deserved vacation. Your children’s teachers and I look forward to making the remainder of this school year a productive, challenging and rewarding experience for our students. Farewell It was sad to say our final farewell to the Lavery family this week. We wish Lindsay, Sam, Morgan and Harris all the best in their next adventures!Pinewood Derby I want to thank Ken Davis, Barry Johnson and Daniel Hunt for organizing the Pinewood Derby Races this year. Traditionally a Boy Scout event, our Rumbai community has adapted the event to be open to all children whose parents are eager, or willing, to participate. After School Activities Thanks to a number of offerings by parents, teachers and community members, we have another great quarter of activities to offer our students. The activities begin on Monday. School Holiday We have no school on Tuesday, January 14 in honor of the Muslim holy day - the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday. Muhammad’s birth was approximately in the year 570 AD (in the Gregorian Calendar). Muhammad died in 632 after uniting Arabia into a single Muslim entity. Progress Reports Next Friday the Second Trimester Progress Reports will be issued. The purpose of the progress report is to inform parents, with particular attention to addressing issues of support that can help your child be more successful this trimester. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. |
