Students Writing Code

http://code.org/ISR Rumbai students join almost 15 million kids world-wide to participate in the Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 9-15).  Kindergarten through Grade 8 students spent that hour engaged in writing code using a kid-friendly program from Tynker (https://www.tynker.com/login).  Tynker's tutorials are designed to teach fundamental concepts of computer programming, as well as computational thinking. As examples:

Programming Concepts:
- Repetition
- Conditional logic
- Computer Drawing
- Handling keyboard Input
- Creating apps

Computational Thinking:
- Problem Decomposition
- Pattern Recognition
- Abstraction

- Algorithmic Thinking
- Automation
